We almost skipped this place because the ratings seemed almost too good to be true, and the name reminded us a little too much of Din Tai Fung—which, to me, has always been more hype than substance. Thank God we gave Din Ding a try. We made the right call. Everything we ordered was excellent, and the portions were HUGE. Honestly, when the portions are generous enough, the food just makes you happy. The scallion pork ribs were a surprise—we expected something more like salt-and-pepper ribs, but they were actually sweet-and-sour style with a wonderful scallion aroma. Delicious. The xiao long bao were easily some of the best I’ve had in the U.S., even better than 南翔小笼包 in NYC. My friend got a noodle soup and I got dry mixed noodles. Both were extremely generous and tasted great. We had so much food left that my friend took a full box home. Don’t let the Din Tai Fung-ish name fool you. This is a completely different experience: big portions, seriously good food, and absolutely not style over substance. Would happily come back.

Ordered wood ear mushroom salad, shrimp stir fried noodles and steamed pork soup dumplings. Wood ear mushroom salad with vinegar does not taste good. It’s more salty than vinegar. Shrimp stir fried noodle is pretty good. Shrimp is a bit soft. If it cook long enough and give a bit more char. It would be even tasty. Pork soup dumpling the star of the show. Each has its own soup. It’s tasted not bad. Sizing is good. The way it was wrap is good and it’s easy to pick up without breaking the skin. The flavor is OK. I don’t think it’s that special. I’ve tried better soup dumping. Got our table pretty fast before rush hour. However I didn’t expect getting tea there is an extra 2.50 charge. Maybe next time offer tea if there’s a charge or let people know that. Overall has a good food. I will avoid getting wood ear mushroom salad next time.

Very good soup dumpling restaurant. It can get pretty full, but the line moves fast, and the food comes out extremely quickly. We ordered the shredded potato appetizer, cumin dry noodles, braised tendons, spicy wontons, and soup dumplings. The soup dumplings had a lot of soup inside, the shredded potato appetizer was very good, and the braised tendons were perfectly cooked. The spicy wontons were also good, and the sauce was especially delicious. I would definitely come here again. Service is fast, and the food is worth the wait.

Din Ding Dumpling House in Union City is one of our family favorites! Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The Xiao Long Bao is always a must, and we also love the peach pork, sautéed green beans, Mongolian beef, chicken chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, and hot and sour soup. Everything came out fresh, hot, and perfectly cooked. Great food, generous portions, and a spot we’ll keep coming back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Always a line out the door. Come early or order take out (I do this quite often). I haven’t stepped foot into Din Tai Fung since they opened maybe more than a decade ago in the Bay Area, but no regrets when there are Din Dings in the neighborhood. The scallop, shrimp and chive pocket is the bomb!
